A Quick Update...

On the Road Again....

Well, Mission 1 is accomplished. I said I’d post again by Friday and Friday it is! In addition to posting to the blog, go ahead and checkout the Podcast Feed and you’ll find something extra in there as well. As I’ve threatened, we’ve begun to drop some “shorts” into the feed. These shorts will not affect the release of our main podcast, but do give us an opportunity to give you a little more background, or a little more information, or something I found humorous, or whatever. These shorts will not be at as high a production value as our regular shows and if you find that they aren’t to your tastes, feel free to delete them. You won’t be missing critical information. If you like these (or hate them), don’t forget to let me know. It will affect what we release in the future (or more importantly - what we don’t release)... ;[)

Mission 2 - I have now set up the iWoodWork Blog with a valid RSS feed - meaning you can subscribe to it if you are so inclined - click on the “RSS feed” button on the right and bookmark page that loads. We’ll be stepping up the frequency of the posts here pretty soon - which brings me to the title of my post tonight....

Tomorrow I hit the road northwards and end up in territory with (shudder) No Internet Connection...for at least a week. We’ll see about posting from my phone (but I wouldn’t hold my breath). I’ll definitely check into the blog when I return and have big plans for it in the second half of April. We’ll be adding the ability to accept your comments and questions and we’ll see where that lead us. I’m looking forward to it. Anyway, I’m just starting to get more comfortable with the idea of plunking down and posting, so I’ll see what nuggets I can come up with while I travel...

Finally, for those of you who are wondering what’s going on in the shop...

This was a week of planning and preparation. Since I’m going to be gone I ran out and got a few boards (OK, $500 worth of 8/4 Walnut) which are acclimating to the decreased humidity in the shop as we speak. Since I won’t be tripping over them next week, I also didn’t have to wrestle them onto my lumber stacks (Yes!). They are currently distributed around the shop where ever they would fit. Planning several furniture projects (mostly at the CAD stage) and thinking it’s really time to do a book shelf or two to fit my new woodworking books - an always increasing quantity. Finally, I was looking over my upcoming projects for some podcast topics and I think I found several. It comes to mind that it’s about time we talked about joinery!

Well, how that for a cliff hanger?

See you all when I return in a week or so...
